Listening to music when you do house chores will help you burn even more calories because you will probably dance to the music.

Lowering your sugar intake can help you lose weight. Take all foods that contain sugar out of what you are eating. Replace these foods with natural sources of sugar, like fruit or yams.

Do not be embarrassed to leave a plate half full when trying to lose weight. Ignore the old adage about not leaving the table till your plate is clean. That belief has done far more harm than good to many waistlines in adulthood. If you are dining out, take leftovers home and put it in the fridge. You may know that your stress is temporary or just about a project you are working on, but your body thinks that you are fighting off a wild animal and must run. Don't skip meals. You might think that skipping meals makes you thinner but in fact, your body is going to store as much fat as possible in case there should be more skipped meals. Even if you are not really feeling hungry, eat something little and healthy at least three 3 times a day.

A pedometer is a great investment when you are planning on walking or running. With a pedometer, you will be able to see the number of steps you are taking. This way you can keep track of how much you are walking, and if you are reaching your goals. Aim to walk no less then 10,000 steps each day. If you find yourself walking less than that amount, try to walk a little further each day.

Do not keep bigger clothes when you have lost the weight. Donating, selling or trashing these items forces you to keep looking forward and motivates you to maintain your new, healthy weight. Right away you will be able to tell that your clothes are tighter. You might be more apt to shed more weight since you will have no other clothes.
