What's African Mango? Get the Truth Before you decide to Buy

By James Peterson

What is African Mango?

You mean Irvingia Gabonensis? We'll stick with just calling it African Mango as "IV" (Irvingia Gabonensis) could be the name of the tree that the African Mango grows on. This tree bears edible mango-like fruits that are valued for their protein saturated nuts.

Why is there this type of craze for Mangos from Africa and why was it featured on Dr . Oz and several other health-related shows? Well it seems after diving into this subject a bit it looks like it actually helps people struggling with unhealthy weight and obesity to lose weight and start to become healthier. I guess I'll have to change an apple per day routine and focus on Mangos.

All kidding aside, inside our research we found a few mentions of the positive effects that African Mango may have but the ones that we preferred to value the absolute most are the ones that centered on actual studies. If you open a fresh browser and search on Wikipedia or the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health for African Mango you'll find several links to studies, two of our favorites being:

"The effect of Irvingia gabonensis seeds on body weight and blood lipids of obese subjects in Cameroon"

"A novel seed extract of the West African plant Irvingia gabonensis, significantly reduces weight and improves metabolic parameters in over weight humans in a randomized double blind placebo controlled investigation".

To make things easier, you are able to just grab just one of these and drop it right into a search box on a new browser.

In these resources you will see that subjects that took African Mango during the study decreased their surplus fat while also having a significant decrease in total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides and an increase in HDL-cholesterol. Tons of big words again but it couldn't be helped this time. To help keep things simple, we'll mention the date that Dr . Oz spoke about the lovely Mangos from Africa - September 13, 2010. He featured this health supplement on his popular television show where he included it high on his "Just Ten" listing of healthy habits you should adopt to lose surplus weight.

Extremely important to think about: Doctor Oz is not a paid spokesperson for any Mango products and that he recommended to the masses on his Health focused show.

It's being called a "breakthrough supplement" and a "super potent fiber" and it is showing to work at ridding your body of cholesterol in addition to acting as an anti-inflammatory in the torso. Simply speaking, it's healthy for you.
